Rehearsal Schedule for the week:
Monday - FALL BREAK! NO SCHOOL! NO REHEARSALS!
Tuesday - FALL BREAK! NO SCHOOL! NO REHEARSALS
Wednesday - Full Band (3-5)
Thursday - Full Band (3-5)
Friday - FB vs. Trinity @ 7:00 (Home - 8th grade night) - Students will meet dressed in full uniform at 5:30.
Saturday - Hornet Marching Invitational (SGC) - We will meet at 2:00 pm for rehearsal

I hope each of you are enjoying a couple of days of rest over Fall Break!
Thanks to all who were in Rutherford yesterday to cheer on the bands (both middle school and high school) during the Davy Crockett Parade! I am often times asked why we march in these parade especially those that happen during our breaks such as this past weekend. The reason is because the people who are at these parade are the people who support our band! They are the ones who purchase items from you for fundraisers, sponsor trophies for the competition, etc. This is our small way that we can give back to our communities that give so much to us!
The 2nd nine weeks starts THIS WEDNESDAY! Every student begins each class with a clean slate. Be sure that they apply themselves right away in order to get the grades in each class that reflect "Excellence in all things!". Report cards from the 1st nine weeks should be available online THIS FRIDAY!
We began selling Yankee Candles, popcorn, and wrapping paper (all in the same order magazine) this past week! Each student is asked to sell at least 6 items or get $30 in donations. Orders + money are due no later than Monday, October 17th! Delivery should be 2-4 weeks from the due date of the orders. Please do your part to make this a successful fundraiser. This fundraiser can also be ordered online! Simply go to www.yankeecandlefundraising.com and enter the group number: 99923407 (you MUST enter this for the band to get credit) and then begin with the order process. Feel free to share this information on social media with your friends and family! Additional order forms are available under the band room table for all those who need another.
Friday night we have a FB game vs. Trinity @ 7:00! This our 8th grade night when all of the 8th graders join in with the high school band to play the national anthem and pep band tunes in the stands during the first half. This is a great recruiting tool for the high school band. I hope many of you (parents) will make yourself available to those 8th grade parents that you know to make them feel comfortable and involved as their student starts thinking about high school and high school band. High school band students must be dressed in full uniform and in their seats at 5:30 for rehearsal with the 8th graders. If an 8th grader is also in the high school band then their primary responsibility on this night is with their middle school band program until half time.
After almost a month off, this Saturday we are back in competition in the Hornet Marching Invitational @ SGC. We perform at 7:30. There are 18 bands in competition. We will meet at 2:00 pm for rehearsal. See attached itinerary for exact details along with an attached competition line-up for those who want to attend early to watch other bands perform. Students will need money for one meal at concessions. Ride home forms are due no later than THIS FRIDAY @ 3:00 pm! I hope that MANY of you will make the short drive to Medina to help cheer on the band! Make plans to arrive early, sit together, and cheer on these great students for all of their hard work and dedication that they have been putting in over the last several weeks and months!
Due to Fall Break, the next band booster's meeting will be NEXT MONDAY, OCTOBER 17TH @ 7:00 in the band room! We will have post competition discussion along with plans for the rest of this marching season and other important events coming up this spring! Come be a part!
