CONGRATULATIONS to the 24 students who attended Solo & Ensemble in Jackson yesterday! Students are rated on a I-V scale with a I being superior and a V being poor. Gibson County had 10 Superior ratings of a I, 11 Excellent ratings of a II, and 3 Good ratings of a III. Mr. Tate feels this is exceptional especially since we did not have school at all last week! Students will receive their score sheets and medals tomorrow during class. Remember, a I rating on a solo is all that counts toward lettering credit. All lettering credits must be completed no later than April 15! See the website @https://gchsmarchingpioneers.org for a complete list of things a student needs to letter in band.
Tomorrow during class we will move all equipment to the theatre.
Jazz Band will rehearse TOMORROW from 3:15-4:45 in the theatre. ALL JAZZ BAND MEMBERS MUST BE PRESENT AT REHEARSAL IN ORDER TO PERFORM IN THE CONCERT ON TUESDAY.

The Spring Concert will be THIS TUESDAY NIGHT @ 6:30 p.m. in the theatre! The concert is FREE and open to the public so please invite your family, friends and neighbors to come enjoy a great night of music by the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Students will need to be dressed (NO JEANS, T-SHIRTS, SHORTS, TENNIS SHOES, ETC.) and in their seats on the stage @ 5:45. Students will have to move all equipment back to the band room BEFORE THEY WILL BE DISMISSED.

The Jackson Generals have invited us to play the National Anthem at a Friday or Saturday game in April or May! We haven't decided on a date for sure but they have agreed to let us keep 50% of all advance tickets we sell. All concert band members will be required to attend at no cost and any tickets they sell in advance (to parents, family and friends!) will benefit the band. Possible dates are April 11, 12, 19 or May 2, 3. We will decide on a date soon.
Have an a great week and enjoy this amazing weather we are finally having!
