Rehearsal Schedule for the week:
Monday – LABOR DAY! NO SCHOOL! NO REHEARSALS!
Tuesday - Full Band (3-5); Hornline, Percussion, & Guard Sectionals (5-6)
Thursday - Full Band (3-5); Bonfire Pep Rally - 7:30 pm
Friday - FB vs Fulton City – 7:00 pm – This is HOMECOMING! Homecoming festivities will begin at 6:30. Students will need to be dressed in full uniform and seated no later than 5:30!
Saturday - First Contest @ Crockett County - We meet at 1:30 for rehearsal!

This is our first contest week! A lot of preparations and hard work have gone in to getting ready for this week! I'm excited to see what the kids bring to the table at Saturday's competition!
Theme shirts should be in some time this week! Stay tuned for information from Ms. Sharon as to when they will distributed!
Woodwinds will play off their “chromatics” warm-up MEMORIZED during sectionals on Tuesday!
Braided Bread will be in THIS THURSDAY! Pick-up will take place at the top of the gym immediately following rehearsal. The bread has to stay below a certain temperature to make sure that it doesn't thaw out so get your bread delivered or in to a freezer as soon as possible after rehearsal on Thursday.
Thursday night there will be a community pep rally following the championship Powder-puff game behind the home stands of the stadium. The championship Powder-puff game begins at 7:30. We will meet in the band room at 7:30 for the pep rally. We will play at the pep rally immediately following the game. We should be done around 8:30. Students need to wear school spirited attire.
Friday night will be our first time wearing full uniform! All students must have on a theme shirt under his/her uniform, have on shorts or something suitable for him/her to change into/out of his/her uniform in an open area, gloves, black socks (socks MUST not be ankle socks!), and CLEAN MTX marching shoes. Mr. Brockman/Mrs. McMinn will have gloves for sale this week for $3/pair. Shoes are in and students who have paid for their shoes have received them. Shoes are $36/pair. They need to break them in this week before wearing them on Friday night and on Saturday.
Remember after the game if you are not working in the band room to please remain in the hallway to reduce confusion and clutter in the band room!
Saturday is our first contest at Crockett County HS in Alamo, TN! We will meet in the band room at 1:30 for rehearsal. Students should eat lunch BEFORE they show up for rehearsal! The contest begins at 4:20 with us performing at 7:15. See the attached itinerary for exact details. We hope as many of you as possible with make the short drive over to Alamo to help cheer on these kids for all of their hard work and effort over these last few months! If you never been to a marching contest please adhere to marching contest etiquette that is attached to this email. The students will be briefed and expected to adhere to these guidelines as well. Admission to the contest is $8. See the remind text from this past Thursday for additional details concerning the contest. Ride home forms are due no later than Friday @ 3:00 pm for the contest on Saturday! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Reminder: the truck has to be loaded BEFORE students will be allowed to check-out on Saturday!
We have our last Band Booster Meeting before our contest NEXT MONDAY NIGHT (12th) @ 7:00 pm in the band room! We need EVERYONE'S HELP to pull this event off. We need you at the meeting NEXT MONDAY NIGHT if at all possible. If you are not able to attend the meeting due to prior commitments and would still like to help out with the contest please contact Kim Todd so we can get you plugged in and know that we can count on you! Thanks in advance for your willingness to help!
ATTENTION SENIORS & SENIOR PARENTS: The state scholarship application deadline is October 1st! You do not have to be a music major to get some money to be in band in college! Don’t miss this opportunity!
Umbrellas should be arriving soon! If each band student just sales 1 umbrella then we should sell out in 1 day! Everyone try and find one person who is interested in an umbrella. Umbrellas are the over sized golf umbrellas and we are selling them for $25/each. Order forms will be released once they arrive and will be sold on a first come first served basis.

Friday, September 16th - FB @ Fulton Co. - 7:30 - Meet and departure time are still TBD.
September 17th – Union City Contest – This contest is a prelims/finals event. This contest is full with 20 bands competing in prelims and 10 of them advance to finals that evening. The contest begins at 9:00 am. Our prelims performance time is 1:00 with finals beginning at 7:00 if we make one of the top 10 spots. Our meeting time will be released in next week's announcements!
