Announcements:

• • CONGRATULATIONS to the class of 2016! We are proud of you and wish you nothing but success in the future!

  • Thanks to everyone who helped cheer on the band Friday at the Strawberry Festival in Humboldt! It was great to have so many supporters lining the streets of Humboldt for both our performance and the mass band performance!

  • Thanks to everyone who had any part in making the band banquet a success! It was a great night to look back on this past year and we couldn't have done it without your help!

  • Any graduating seniors/parents or students not participating in the Fall 2016 band/parents will be removed from the email list at some point this week unless you email Ms. Sharon and specifically ask to remain on the list.

  • All debts MUST be paid this week before any students will be allowed to graduate or attend the first June rehearsal!

  • We will start playing through the show music this week and working on graduation music. Students will need both concert and marching instruments at school this week.

  • We will unload the truck TOMORROW! Seniors were instructed to be sure that anything they wanted to keep MUST be off the truck and everything that belonged to the school MUST be back in its place. We will take inventory tomorrow. Any equipment not returned will be added to the school's debt list.

  • This Tuesday will be the band's freshmen orientation @ 6:30 in the band room! All student leaders who were announced at the banquet on Friday night are REQUIRED to attend! They need to be there at 6 to help welcome the incoming freshmen and their families to Gibson County HS. We will need some parents to help preparing/serving the food and also parents available to answer questions and make them feel welcome as well. Please contact Kim Todd if you are willing to help.

  • Graduation is THIS FRIDAY NIGHT @ 6:00 pm in the main gym! All non-graduating concert band members are REQUIRED to play for graduation. All students need to be in their seats on the gym floor at 5:15 dressed in concert attire! All equipment will have to be moved back to the band room before students will be dismissed to leave.

Upcoming Dates:

• • May 20th and 23rd - Final Exams

  • May 23rd - Last Day of School (1/2 day)

  • June 14, 21, 28 - June rehearsals - 6-9 pm - Attendance is REQUIRED for at least 2 out of the 3 rehearsals in order to secure a spot in next year's field show!

  • July 11-15 - Percussion/Guard Camp - 8:00-4:30 - Attendance is MANDATORY!

  • July 13-15 - Fundamentals Camp (FULL BAND!) - 8:00-11:30 - Attendance is MANDATORY!

  • July 18-22 - Full Band Camp - 8:00am-DARK - Attendance is MANDATORY!
