Announcements:
Any upcoming junior or senior band member who is interested in a leadership position in next year's band should attend a brief meeting TOMORROW AFTERNOON in the band room @ 3:05!
The Jazz Band will meet TOMORROW from 3:15-4:30 in the theatre.
Fall 2015 Guard Clinic #4 will take place TOMORROW from 3:30 until 5 in the main gym.
Fall 2015 Percussion Clinic #3 will take place TOMORROW 5-8 in the band room. Clinic #4 will take place on Thursday from 5-8 in the band room as well.
The band booster meeting that was previously scheduled will be held immediately following the concert on Tuesday since the only real piece of business that needs to be discussed is the Band Banquet and the upcoming Band Freshmen Orientation.
Our annual "Pops Concert" will be held THIS TUESDAY @ 6:30 in the theatre! The concert is FREE and open to the public so invite your friends, family, and neighbors out for a great night of music by the jazz and concert bands of Gibson County! Students have to be dressed in either concert attire (NO TSHIRTS, JEANS, SHORTS, TENNIS) OR the approved alternate attire (still must be professional looking in nature) @ 5:45 in the theatre. All equipment will have to be moved back to the band room immediately following the concert BEFORE any student will be dismissed.
The Percussion Section will be hosting a silent auction TUESDAY NIGHT in conjunction with the concert so plan to arrive early so you can view and bid on the great items they will have for auction!
Fall 2015 Drum Auditions will be held THIS WEDNESDAY @ 3:30in the theatre.
ALL LETTERING CREDIT IS DUE TO MR. TATE NO LATER THAN THIS WEDNESDAY IN ORDER FOR A STUDENT TO LETTER IN BAND THIS SCHOOL YEAR!
ATTENTION SENIORS/SENIOR PARENTS: Pictures of you/your student are now past due to be included in the band banquet video! If you still want your student included contact Kim Todd ASAP!
Mr. Tate and a few of the high school band students went to all of the middle schools to recruit this past Friday. We have 22 seniors and 39 8th graders currently in band. Out of the 39: 31 said they were definitely doing high school band, 5 said they were a maybe, and 3 said no they were not doing high school band. Those are fantastic numbers! Please continue to encourage 8th grade band members/parents that you know to be involved in the high school band! We encouraged them all to try it just one semester! The future continues to look bright for our organization!
