Announcements:
Thanks to everyone who came out this past Tuesday to the Pops Concert! The kids did a great job and hopefully you and your family enjoyed a night of great music by the bands at Gibson County HS!
Memorization Test over the OUR PARADE BAND TUNE ("Jupiter") for Concert Band Members is MONDAY during class. This makes up 34% of their grade for this nine weeks. Failure to memorize the tune will result in an F in band this nine weeks along with the student will NOT be allowed to march in the spring parades. Non Concert Band Members will be tested over their memorization at next Tuesday's (26th) rehearsal!
Jazz Band meets MONDAY from 3:15-4:30 in the band room!
Guard Clinic #6 will be TOMORROW from 3:30-5:00 in the main gym!
Parade Band Rehearsals begin THIS TUESDAY for all NON Concert Band Members and Color Guard Members! Rehearsals are from 3-5. All rehearsals/parades are MANDATORY in order to attend the Band Banquet on May 6th!
Full Band Parade Band Rehearsal for ALL (both concert and non concert band members) parade band members is THIS THURSDAY from 3-5! The hornline and battery members will be released at 4:30 due to this being the opening night of the play and we have a number of students participating in the play. The guard will stay the entire time. This is part of the rehearsal grade for concert band members. Remember students participating in minor sports MUST attend at least one parade band rehearsal each week. This information MUST be communicated with both myself and the coach of the sport. If games are scheduled in a way that a player of a minor sport can attend all rehearsals then ALL REHEARSALS ARE REQUIRED!
Concert Band members MUST play off "Amazing Grace" for their section leaders at Thursday's rehearsal. If they do not, then they will not be able to march in the parades. Non Concert Band members will play off "Amazing Grace" on the Tuesday (26th) rehearsal along with our parade band tune.
Band Banquet tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY for $12/person! Each band student is admitted for FREE but they must RSVP with me. Each 8th grader-junior can purchase up to two additional tickets. Seniors can purchase up to 3 additional tickets. You will not receive an actual ticket but rather a list will be made by Chasity Langston who will then check you in with that list at the door at the banquet. The banquet will be held at First Baptist Church in Dyer on May 6th @ 6:30 pm. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR! The last day to buy at ticket will be Friday, April 29th so we can give the caterer a definite number. Send your money in envelope marked with your student's name along with how many tickets that you are purchasing.

Teapot Parade/Mass Band Rehearsal Day Logistics....PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
The morning of the parade (around 8:30), the 18-wheeler will be parked in the parking lot directly across from the old jail and current Juvenile Court are located. All students should stop by the truck on the way to the Peabody Place Apartments to drop off his/her uniform bag, hat box, and instrument case so they will all be there immediately following the parade. After the parade is over we will travel to that lot to load the truck like we would after a game or contest. The buses will be there at this point. All students will load the bus to travel to Humboldt. When we arrive in Humboldt we will unload and eat the lunch provided at the park. We will start rehearsal at 2:30. The rehearsal will end at 7:30 around the old Main Street School. Students will then walk back to the park and load the buses to head back to GC. You can check your student out at that time just like a game or contest. You will need to turn in a ride home form no later than Thursday, April 29th in order to do that! Buses should arrive back at GC around 8:30. Students will need their rides there at that time.
