A BIG THANK YOU to all who came to the concert this past Tuesday night! WE had a great crowd in support of the hard work of these wonderful students!
Jazz Band meets TOMORROW from 3:15-4:30 (Rythym section only) in the band room. Students will begin preparing for the Teapot Music Feast in May.
Fall 2014 Color Guard Audition Clinics begin TOMORROW in the main gym from 3:30-5:00. Students must wear comfortable clothing conducive to movement, tennis shoes, and have hair tied back away from their face.
DISNEY TRIP FINAL DOCUMENTS MEETING-TOMORROW NIGHT @ 6:30 p.m. in the GCHS Library. Mr. Tate has not been at school to be able to scan a form therefore we can't mail one out. Each student/parent going on the trip will get a formtomorrow night at the meeting. notaries will arrive around 6 to begin notarizing if you want to arrive early (keeps you from waiting in a long line). Mr. Brockman and Ms. Evans will be there to collect forms after they have been notarized. They are to be turned in to one of them them and NOT Thomas Tours. If, for any reason, you do not get yours notarized tomorrownight, then it MUST be completed and turned in no later than THIS FRIDAY! After everyone is notarized, we will begin the meeting with Mr. Johnny Thomas from Thomas Tours. He will have all of the information you need to get you and your student prepared for the trip! Bring something to write with because he will present lots of important information!
Tuesday-ALL JUNIORS will take the ACT! Get plenty of rest and be ready to do your best!
Midterm Exams are THIS THURSDAY (1st and 3rd blocks) and FRIDAY (2nd and 4th blocks)! Be sure your student is prepared! Mr. Hughes has agreed to allow concert band members to make up their 2nd block exams due to them being outFriday for Concert Festival.
Concert Festival is THIS FRIDAY @ Liberty High School in Jackson. EAch student was given a permission sheet for each of their teachers to sign. These permission slips are due TOMORROW! We will meet in the band room Friday for a brief rehearsal at 8. We will load and depart GC @ 9:15. Our performance time is 11:00. See attached schedule if you would like to attend. You are welcome to come tot he stage performance at 11:00 but only staff and students will be allowed into the sight reading room immediately following. After we sight read, we will load the bus and leave for lunch. Students will need $5-$10 for lunch at local fast food restaurants. We should arrive back at GC around 2 p.m. The attire for the day will be BLACK AND WHITE ONLY! All guys will be issued a red tie they must wear with their button down white shirts (TUCKED IN) with black dress pants. All ties MUST be returned or the student will owe $30 to replace the tie.
Fall 2014 Drum Major Audition Clinic is THIS SATURDAY from 8:30-11:30 in the band room! Information is located on the band room table.
A BOOSTER MEETING WILL BE HELD IN THE LIBRARY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE DISNEY MEETING-PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND/STAY!!!
