Announcements
· This is what you need to have with you every day for band class and after school rehearsal:
Instrument
Tennis Shoes for outside
Music in your black 1.5inch binder with sheet protectors (must have every day)
Drill Book
Red water jug-refill these at the water filling stations BEFORE you come down to the field
Pencil
These things are needed every day as we will be outside unless it rains and then we will make it work. Failure to have these will drop your daily grade.
· For after school rehearsals we will wear our rehearsal shirts again:
Tuesday - Band Red, Guard Blue
Thursday - Band Blue, Guard Red
Friday - Section Shirt, or Red under uniform
Saturday - We will wear Show shirts.
· Failure to wear the correct color on the correct days will result in extra laps. Please wear the correct color when needed as it makes rehearsals more efficient.
· Friday we will meet outside the band room at 4:45.
· This Saturday we will host our band contest. This is one of the most important days of the school year for our band and is our biggest fundraiser. We need EVERYONE there to help. We will be having a booster meeting Monday night at 7:00 in the band room and if you are already set to work it you NEED to be there. If you have not been contacted to work but are free that day to work then please be there. Our contest begins at 9:00 am so our call time will be 7:00 am in your seats in the band room wearing polo and khaki. Remember you are an ambassador of the band and the school. Everyone needs to be hospitable that day even if someone is rude to you. If you have an issue with a spectator, visiting band staff or student, you need to report it to Mr. Agee or Mr. Leslie.
· The band will be performing after finals so at a certain point that night they will need to go get dressed and warm up with Mr. Leslie.
· Students will sign up for their jobs on Tuesday. Everyone must help and EVERYONE must be flexible on being moved to somewhere else.
· The only people other than staff and band that will be permitted to enter stadiums with the band will be the PIT CREW. Mr. Dewayne has his list and if you are not on that list then you will need to purchase a ticket to the game or contest. Our 4 chaperones will also get a bracelet to get into contests.
· Band fee number 4 was due by September 18th. If you have not gotten caught up on payments please do that ASAP. We have to pay our bills so make sure you are making your payments on time.
· Please make sure you are participating in every fundraiser. It is not fair for little Tina to get the same benefits as little Johnny if little Tina didn't help with the fundraiser and little Johnny raised $1,000. Everyone must pull their own weight.
· Tuesday we will begin our Butterbraid fundraiser. I will let you know due date on Tuesday. You are asked to sell 20 items or receive $60 in donations.
