Announcements:
The deadline to upload your Vaccination Card is DECEMBER 10th, no later!!!
If you are going to be absent from any mass band rehearsal, I MUST know beforehand. We need everyone there as time is limited on putting this together not to mention the work that it takes to march 6 1/2 miles.
All-West music is posted. If you are attending all west see me at the beginning of class tomorrow.
Remember IF YOU OWE A DEBT, these need to be paid before we get out for Christmas, or they will be turned in to Mr. Hughes!!! Anyone wanting to be exempt from a final exam must have all debt paid by this Tuesday.
As the fall semester is coming to a close, I would like to remind you that we grow the most during concert band. We play much more difficult music during this season, and we want everyone to succeed. With that being said, if you are going to be in marching band next fall then it would be wise to be in concert band in the spring. Your scale test (final exam) will determine you chair placement for next fall's marching show.
Sign-ups for ensembles have ended. You are more than welcome to continue to add to the sign-up but at this point if you are on the list then you will be responsible for your portion of the music if you drop. There are no excused absences other than quarantine for ensembles. If you miss two rehearsals, you will not receive lettering credit for that ensemble.
Lessons will continue with Mr. Congiardo this week.
Final exams begin this Thursday. Students will play all 12 major scales from memory for myself, Mr. Leslie, or Mr. Tate. This is very important as it will decide chair placement for the spring semester AND for the fall marching show next year.
Christmas Concert Attire:
For the Christmas concert you will be able to wear any Christmas attire that would be school appropriate. You can wear Santa hats, tacky Christmas sweaters and things of that nature. No jeans, no leggings as pants. Ladys be minimal with Jewelry as we don't want it hitting instruments and making noises during the concert.
Fundraising:
As of this moment Fruit will be in on December 10th.
Nuts were supposed to ship out on December 2nd.
Mass Band:
TOMORROW NIGHT - Final trip meeting with PAC - The Church at Sugar Creek - Humboldt - Sanctuary - 6:30 - We will have a full group meeting with Sherry (VP of PAC) and Barry (former Munford director who will be traveling with us as a representative of PAC). After the full group meeting, we will ask all chaperones to stay for a full group chaperone meeting and then we will break chaperones into groups by schools so we can address our expectations to them for the trip. This is an extremely important meeting and you need to make every effort to be there. I have no idea how long this will all last but my feeling is that we shouldn't be in a hurry.
