Good evening!
Now that we are in concert season, we need to make sure that we are focused on bettering our technique and ear on our instruments.
There are sign-ups on the band window for the different ensembles for the spring.
To receive lettering credit, you must complete all of the criteria, which I have gone over in class.
Concert band is a vital part of any music program, if we want to have a successful marching band then it starts with concert band. If you drop concert band then come marching band season, we will be no better than the year before.
Mr. Leslie will continue to have All-West lessons during class time. Make sure that you bring your $10 for registration.
If you have not registered for UTM honor band and are wanting to do it please register by Wednesday as I will be doing my portion of the registration then. I have spoke with a few who need me to register you and that is fine.
Each student is required to have a black hard binder around 1". This is for their music and to have on stage. This is REQUIRED.
Each individual will be required to perform their 12 major scales from memory for their final exam starting on Dec. 12. This is 15% of their grade for the semester.
We will be doing parade band on Friday's, make sure you have the correct footwear.
This Saturday is the Dyer Christmas parade. I will open the band room at 3:30 and we will meet across from food rite at 4:00. This is a required performance for the high school students. We will wear normal uniform so you will need gauntlets, parade top, and both gloves. Dress warm underneath but no jeans.
Make sure you stay up to date with our band calendar!
Make sure that you have downloaded the Band app and have joined our class. This is taking the place of remind. We will not be using remind anymore. https://band.us/n/a4a5687fZfyag
