• Rehearsal Schedule for the Week

• Monday-Guard Sectional (3-5); Percussion Sectional (5-8)

• Tuesday-Full Band (3-5); Hornline Sectionals (5-6)

• Thursday-Full Band (3-5)

• PLEASE NOTE-ALL REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY!! Please schedule all non-emergent appointments on NON-REHEARSAL days. Missing rehearsals will affect your student's grade in band and could jeopardize his/her spot in the show for the fall. Make every effort to make sure your student doesn't miss a rehearsal all season.

• Announcements

• The first MEMORIZATION TEST for the semester over part 1 is TOMORROW!!! Each student will test TOMORROW during class or sectional time for the guard and battery. If a student does not play from the beginning to the end COMPLETELY MEMORIZED or if he/she makes a failing grade, he/she will have until THIS FRIDAY to make up the grade. The student will not march until he/she plays each test successfully.

• BAND BOOSTER MEETING TOMORROW NIGHT @ 7 in the band room. Come be a part as we begin planning for upcoming fundraisers/events (preview night, contest, etc.)!!

• Preview Night tickets will go on sale THIS WEEK for $5 each. Each high school band student will eat for FREE (includes 8th graders who are a part of the high school band). Each student is asked to sell at least 5 tickets for Preview Night. A ticket RSVP will be sent home and emailed out this week. Contact Amy Thornton or attend the meeting TOMORROW NIGHT if you can help with PN.

• Polos will be in soon. Be sure, if your student ordered a polo, these are paid for in advance before the student will receive the polo. They are $15.

• The initial deposit ($150) for ANYONE going on the Disney Trip in the spring is THIS THURSDAY. If your student has fundraised his/her entire initial deposit you still have to mail in your slip from your itinerary packet and notate "fundraised the deposit". Contact Thomas Tours at 1-800-292-0470 with any questions or concerns.

• ALL GUARD MEMBERS should pay $28 for guard shoes for the show. This amount is included in the "new" guard girls fees. This amount is separate for any "old" guard members

• Continue to pay for marching shoes ($34). They should be in toward the end of the month. Students will only receive shoes if they are paid in full.

• We will have our second memorization test NEXT MONDAY over part 2 (Ballad-Dream On).

• PREVIEW NIGHT WILL BE NEXT THURSDAY, AUGUST 22 @ 6:30 in the stadium. We will begin the evening with a performance of the 2013 show "Dare to Dream" followed by a $5 hamburger/hot dog dinner (ticket purchased in advance is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED so we can be sure there is enough food). Invite your friends and family to attend this event! Students will wear polos, khaki shorts, and tennis shoes for this event.

• Our annual "Dodge Booster Drive" will be NEXT THURSDAY, August 22 from 5-8 p.m. in front of the school. The band receives $20 for each person (over 18) who test drives a Dodge. Please invite folks to the Dodge Drive and Preview Show!!!!!
