Rehearsal Schedule for the week:
Monday - Guard Sectional (3-5); Alto Sax/Mellophone Sectional (3:15-4:30); Percussion Sectional (5-8)
Tuesday - Full Band (3-5); all other Hornline Sectionals (5-6)
Thursday - Full Band (3-5)
Friday - NO FOOTBALL GAME! Enjoy your night off!
Saturday - Davy Crockett Parade - 2:00 - We will meet in Rutherford @ 1:15.
Announcements:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU are not enough in words to tell you how grateful that I am for each of you that helped out in anyway with our invitational yesterday! It was a great representation of the "Pioneer Spirit" and how we do it at Gibson County! I got many compliments from band directors, parents, and spectators about how we run our contest! I tried to find many of you through out the day or at the end of the night to tell you "Thank You" for volunteering yesterday. If I missed you please know I am very thankful for your hard work and dedication to make our competition a success yesterday! MANY MANY THANKS TO EACH OF YOU!
Yankee Candle sales begin TOMORROW! Each student is asked to sell at least 6 items or get $30 in donations. All orders and $$$ are due no later than Monday, October 17th.
Midterm Exams are this week! 1st and 3rd block exams are THIS THURSDAY. 2nd and 4th block exams are THIS FRIDAY. We do NOT have a midterm exam in band. These exams are worth 20% of your students grade for nine weeks. Be sure they are studying and are prepared for each of their exams!
Friday Night is our football team's OPEN WEEK! Enjoy the night off!
On Saturday we have the Davy Crockett Parade in Rutherford @ 2:00 pm. We will meet in Rutherford at the open lot off East Knox Street (down the street from Rutherford School) @ 1:15. We will NOT take buses to this event! Students will wear polos and khaki shorts with tennis shoes. The band room will be open from 12:30-1:00 for anyone who needs to pick-up their equipment from the school and also ~30 minutes immediately following the parade. Students will be dismissed from the end of the parade route.
If you were unable to make your band fee payment this past week, please take care of this as soon as possible. Unless payment arrangements have been made, this is now considered a debt.

Friday, October 14th - FB vs Trinity - 7:00 - 8th grade night - We will meet at 5:30 dressed in full uniform to rehearse with the 8th graders.
Saturday, October 15th - Contest @ South Gibson - Rehearsal/Departure still TBD
