Monday - Jazz Band - 3:15-4:30 - Band Room
Tuesday - Percussion Ensemble - 5-8 - Band Room
Wednesday - Woodwind Ensemble/Low Brass Ensemble - 3:15-4:30 - Band Room/Cafeteria
Thursday - Brass Ensemble - 3:15-4:30 - Percussion Ensemble - 5-8 - Band Room

I hope everyone enjoyed their "snow week" and ready to get back in a normal routine this week!
GREAT JOB by all 15 students who auditioned for All-West this past Saturday in North Side! All of them were well-prepared and represented our band program quite well! I am proud of each of them for all of their hard work and dedication! We are still awaiting the results but regardless of the results all of these students have become better musicians which has ultimately improved the quality of our entire band program as a result of their participation in the All-West audition process! We should know results later today or tomorrow. I hope that many more of our students will decide to participate in the audition process next year!
For those students selected to participate in one of the All West bands, they will need to get a contract signed and returned ASAP in order to get registered for the event!
Drink orders + $$$ are due TOMORROW!
We will begin our final fundraiser for the NY Trip starting TOMORROW! We will be selling shirts and hoodies commemorating the trip! Attached is the order form. All orders + $$$ are due no later than NEXT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND!!! All profits from the shirts and hoodies will go towards your student's final trip payment which is due on February 5th.
UT Martin Honor Band students will leave around 11:00 am on Thursday! They will need have their bags packed and ready to load the bus at that time. Students will need money for 5 meals + money to purchase snacks at Wal-Mart. Students will just need school clothes for Thursday and Friday. They will need concert attire (black & white) for Saturday. Students will perform their concerts on Saturday. A detailed itinerary will be given to your student this week. Parents are expected pick up their student immediately following their concert since the bus departs after it drops the students off for rehearsal on that Saturday morning. You will then need to travel to the hotel to pick-up their luggage.
Solo & Ensemble will be held at North Side HS in Jackson on Saturday, March 3rd! All students are encouraged to participate. We will be picking our solos and ensembles in band class next week. All students who participate are required to pay $10 per event registered. Remember in order to receive lettering credit for the event your student MUST receive a I (1 - Superior) rating on SOLOS ONLY! Be sure you communicate with your child if you want him/her to participate. We will take a bus from the high school that morning or students can provide their own transportation to the event.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: FINAL DOCUMENTS/INFORMATION MEETING FOR ANYONE (including band students' parents) GOING ON THE NYC TRIP WILL BE MONDAY, MARCH 5TH @ 6:00 PM IN THE LIBRARY!!! This meeting is HIGHLY encouraged if you and/or your child is going on this trip!
